Summer

YEAH! Summer is here and we have been enjoying getting outside to play. Thursday, the playgroup moms and kids met at a local park by Whatcom Falls. (These are the falls above) We had fun letting the kids play and still having time to catch up on each others' weeks. One of my friends has an in-home daycare and she brings all of her kiddos to playgroup. Well the extra bonus for summer is that her recently graduated son is now working for her and was at the park and had all the kids playing games in the field. He is so great with the kids. We also went for a walk down some of the trails and enjoying Whatcom Falls and Whatcom Creek.

Friday, after Dean got home and we ate lunch, we packed up the boys and their bikes and headed to another park at Lake Padden. This was the first ride around the lake that the boys had done. Dean, Jake, and Austin rode quickly around as Griff and I (I walked) took a little more time. Griffen did great around most of the lake as it was fairly flat. The last 1/3 or so was a little hilly and I ended up carrying his little bike up and down a few hills. Just as we were nearing the last hill Dean and the boys came back up toward us and it got Griffen back onto the bike. He was such a trooper!

Changes

Well it has been awhile since the last post. It is another season of change in the Hendrickson house. Though most of the changes are small, the biggest ones are that now we have a fourth grader and a second grader. The last day of school was Friday and the boys got to celebrate in different ways. Jacob was invited to go see the movie, "Kung Fu Panda" with a good friend (also named Jake who, by the way, is also allergic to peanuts). Austin and Griffen came with me to Longview for the weekend and they enjoyed a milkshake on the ride down. Jake stayed home with Dean and got to have some "only child" time with dad. Now trying to find a good way to enjoy our free days with everyone home.

The other "big" change to occur today is that we had two super heroes at our house. They were ready to challenge any bad guys that may have dared to come, but ended up just chasing each other around. Don't they look so strong? They sure kept us safe this morning.

There are other small changes here too Like Griffen's new quilt from Nana. Batman is standing on it in his picture. It's a great quilt! Thanks Nana! My hair color has also changed (sorry no picture as of yet) a couple of times in the last few days. (Mom, I got it darkened some) I will try to get a good enough picture to post soon. Royal Family Kids Camp is next week so I will be very busy the rest of this week getting things ready for that and then being at camp in the mornings next week. It is a very fun thing to be a part of each year, and even though it can be exhausting it is very rewarding too.
Well I need to get back to cleaning the house as we are having our small group here for a bbq tonight.
