Our Jakie got braces! Right now it is just top braces but in about four months or so they will add a device (not sure how to spell it so I won't even try) that will move his lower jaw forward a bit. It takes the place of head gear but it is on the inside of his mouth and doesn't get taken out whenever he wants. It is always in but not as visible as the lovely head gear. That will stay on for about 8 months and then when that is taken out they will do bottom braces. The whole process should take about 2 years.He is doing great with them. He was a little worried about it hurting but was a champ. When he got home from school that afternoon he was a bit sore and we made sure he had soft food for dinner (mac & cheese) and of course topped the night off with ice cream. True to Jake form, he is making sure that I remember what things he can and can't eat. He doesn't want to chance breaking his braces (I am very thankful for that!).
Dean and I figure that as soon as his braces are off it will be Austin's turn. Sheesh...these kids are expensive! (But well worth it!)

He looks older with braces! I think he's so lucky that he doesn't have to wear an awful head gear. I had one of those, and was so embarrassed about it!
